Overview
There are no games in the top 20 to be in its final week before launch. As a reminder the Pro data is back up, which means that I am taking requests again for games outside the top 20.
The top six games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, down from nine last week, and the top 10 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, down from 13 last week. Three games added 20,000 or more, down from six last week and six added 10,000 or more, down from nine last week.
Games in Final Week Before Launch
There are no games in the top 20 to be in its final week before launch.
Major Performers – Week Ending September 8
Madden NFL 13 (X360) sales are expected to drop to around 150,000 units in its second week on sale. The PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop to around 125,000 in its second week.
Guild Wars 2 (PC) sales are expected to drop to around 140,000 in its second week on sale.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS) sales are expected to drop to around 100,000 in its third week on sale.
Overall hardware sales are expected to remain relatively flat compared to the previous week.
Other Hot Games
Halo 4 (X360) has added 23,911 pre-orders, up from 20,069 last week, for a total of 614,599. The game is currently 225,000 pre-orders ahead of Halo: Reach during the same number of weeks before release. The game is 10 weeks away from launch in the USA, November 6, 2012.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II (X360) added 44,528 pre-orders, up from 40,702 last week, for a total of 691,923. The game is 194,000 pre-orders behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360) during the same number of weeks before release. The game is 11 weeks away from launch in the USA, November 13, 2012.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II (PS3) added 19,694 pre-orders, down from 36,703 last week, for a total of 419,018. The game has grown to 76,000 pre-orders ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3). The game is 11 weeks away from launch in the USA, November 13, 2012.
Notable mentions: Borderlands 2 (X360) added 29,677 pre-orders for a total of 368,867. Assassin’s Creed III (X360) added 10,959 pre-orders for a total of 345,610. World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria (PC) added 11,087 pre-orders for a total of 126,284.
Requests: LittleBigPlanet (PSV) added 1,386 pre-orders for a total of 25,462. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PS3) added 1,977 pre-orders for a total of 19,920. Tomb Raider (PS3) added 499 pre-orders for a total of 15,095. Tomb Raider (X360) added 397 pre-orders for a total of 14,965.
