Sony: Customer Payment Info (Probably) Secure; Hackers at Large

On April 20, Sony’s PlayStation Network crumbled to the whim of a hacker, or group of hackers. Amidst a series of attacks launched against Sony services by the hacker group Anonymous, a potentially unaffiliated party gained access to confidential customer information. This included names, birthdays, email addresses, home addresses, passwords — if it was present on a user’s profile, it was obtained.
