Namco Bandai president and representative director Satoshi Oshita have announced that One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 pre-orders have passed 500,000 in Japan. The announcement was translated by Gematsu.
The first game in the series launched in March 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and has sold 860,000 units to date in Japan according to VGChartz. The game has sold more than one million units worldwide.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 is set to be released on March 20 in Japan for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It will be released in North America and Europe this summer.
